Morley has its own town hall, its own high street and a very clear sense of not simply being part of Leeds, and its housing is just as distinct: a woollen town whose stone terraces were built for people walking to the mills.
Those stone terraces are lovely and they are hard work to wire well. Solid gritstone walls mean chasing is real work and cable routes need thinking about rather than guessing at, which is exactly where a rushed job shows. The converted mills around Morley Bottoms and Queen Street are their own puzzle, often with shared supplies and landlord circuits that need untangling before anything else can happen. The interwar semis up towards Churwell and the newer estates near the White Rose end are more familiar territory, usually a consumer unit upgrade or a batch of extra circuits.
We test before we quote on any older Morley property, so the price accounts for what is actually behind the plaster rather than what we hope is behind it.
