Rothwell sits between Leeds and Wakefield, and like our own patch to the east it is a town built on coal and rebuilt since. It is a straightforward run from Garforth, and one we make regularly.
The older stock around Commercial Street and Marsh Street tends to be terraced, solid-walled and on installations that were adequate for a house with three sockets and are not adequate for one with a kitchen full of appliances. The post-war estates through Rothwell and Oulton are the ones we most often see with rewireable fuse boards. Newer development around Oulton, Woodlesford and the M1 junction usually needs adding to rather than replacing: extra circuits, outdoor power, a charger on its own supply.
Rothwell Country Park sits on ground that used to be a colliery, which is a fair summary of the whole town, and of a lot of the wiring we are asked to bring up to date.
