A full rewire done room by room, with your home kept liveable throughout

House Rewires

A rewire is the biggest electrical job a house ever has, and most of the worry is about mess and disruption rather than the wiring itself. We plan the work room by room, agree exactly where every socket, switch and light is going before we lift a floorboard, and keep the house liveable while we work.

Leeds has a lot of housing stock that is now well past its wiring's working life: back-to-backs and through terraces around Headingley and Hyde Park, interwar semis in Roundhay and Crossgates, and plenty of properties still running rubber or fabric-sheathed cable behind the plaster. If your fuse box is a rewireable one, or the sockets are round-pin, the wiring dates from an era with very different standards.

You get one fixed price in writing before anything starts, a day-by-day plan so you know what is happening when, and full testing with written results at the end.

What's included

Every circuit surveyed first

We inspect and test what is already there before quoting, so the price reflects the real job rather than a guess, and nothing unexpected turns up halfway through.

Agreed before we start

Socket, switch and light positions are walked through and agreed room by room. It is far easier to move a socket on paper than after the plaster is on.

Kept liveable

We work in stages so you keep power and light where you need it, sheet up as we go, and clear up at the end of every day rather than at the end of the job.

Tested to BS 7671

The whole installation is tested to BS 7671 and you get the full test results for the work, plus a clear record of what is on which circuit.

Rewires questions, answered

How much does a rewire cost?

Across Leeds a full rewire of a three-bedroom house is typically £3,500 to £6,500, and a partial rewire from around £1,000. Every property is different, so we price yours after seeing it and you get one fixed price in writing before any work starts, with no call-out fee for the quote.

How long does a rewire take?

A typical three-bedroom house is usually a week to two weeks depending on access and whether it is a full or partial rewire. You get a day-by-day plan with your quote so you know what to expect.

Do I need to move out?

Almost never. We work in stages so you keep power and light where you need it, and most customers stay put throughout. If a particular week would genuinely be easier empty, we will tell you.

Do I need a full rewire or just part of one?

Plenty of houses only need part of the installation replacing. We test first and tell you what genuinely needs doing, rather than quoting a full rewire by default.
