Why do some Leeds EICRs get advertised for under £100?
Usually the price is for a very small flat or it is a lead price that goes up once the electrician sees the board. Ours is fixed after we know the property, so the number you are given is the number you pay.
Does the price include fixing what you find?
No. It should not. The report is independent of any repair. If it needs work we quote that separately, so you can compare or choose to do only what is urgent.
How often do I need an EICR?
Every five years for a rented home in England and at a change of tenancy if the last report is close to expiring. For your own home every ten years is the usual guide or whenever you buy.
