Headingley is a harder place to charge a car than most of Leeds and we would rather say that up front. The brick terraces off Cardigan Road and around Hyde Park rarely have a driveway and a cable across the pavement is not something we will fit. Where there is off-street parking, a side return, a rear yard or a garage off one of the back lanes, a home charger works well and the semis further out towards West Park and Weetwood almost always have space for one.
We fit chargers across Headingley for homeowners, for landlords adding one to a let and for flats with allocated parking. Every job starts with a supply check, because a charger is the biggest single load most houses ever add and Headingley's older wiring sometimes needs a small upgrade at the board first. Across Leeds a 7kW charger is typically £800 to £1,200 fitted, including the unit, with one fixed price in writing before we start. If you rent or own a flat we check whether the current support scheme applies and handle the claim.
Honest about parking
If your house cannot take a charger safely we will tell you, rather than sell you one you cannot use.
Landlord installs
A charger makes a Headingley let stand out. We fit it, set up the smart app and hand over the paperwork.
Supply checked first
We test the supply and the board before quoting, so the price includes anything the wiring needs.
Your questions, answered
Can I have a charger with on-street parking only?
Not from us. A cable across a pavement is a trip hazard and the council can object. If you get a dropped kerb or use a rear yard, come back to us and we will fit it.
Do I need my landlord's permission?
Yes, because the charger is fixed to the building and wired into the board. Most landlords agree because it adds value. We can talk them through what is involved.
How long does the installation take?
Most are done in half a day. A long cable run to a rear garage or a board upgrade can make it a full day and we tell you which when we quote.
Ready for electrics done properly?
Free fixed quotes across Leeds and West Yorkshire. Careful work, an immaculate finish and a price that doesn't move.
